Denise Bell is co-facilitator in the Healing Spirit workshops.  With charity finances being hard it by the global economic downturn, the ladies tend to the animals themselves as there is no money to hire stable hands.

"It is hard work caring for all the animals, but it has its rewarding moments.  Some times we bent over double laughing from their antics and it is great to see the small children's faces light up when they meet the animals," says Denise.

The programme was developed by Adelle Potgieter, who has been providing therapeutic and counselling services to special needs groups (psychiatric patients and children) for over a decade. Adelle is a Social Sciences graduate of the University of Port Elizabeth, specializing in conflict and emotion. She has also attended training in equine massage and energy healing under the tutelage of Angela Frey of Earthangel Communications. Adelle has great affinity to animals and children.

Adelle says: "I love the way the animals and children respond to me as I care for them and nurse their wounds (the physical and emotional ones). I have always had a healer's heart. Yet, I know that God is the Healer and I am just an instrument He uses to heal those He places in my care.  In helping others heal, my own hurts have been healed.  I feel so privileged to be involved in this amazing project!"
